The Heavenly House Retreat
Dingle Peninsula, Kerry, Ireland
The Heavenly House is extraordinarily beautiful.
Perched over the endless sands of the Inch Strand on the Dingle Peninsula in Kerry, the atmosphere is one of deep peace and outstanding natural splendour.
The mile-long waves rolling onto the shore create a meditative calm whilst the constantly changing interplay between skylight and water reflection inspire and uplift the troubled or weary soul.
The Retreat
On offer at the Heavenly House is a 7 day structured retreat providing:
- Welcome and dinner
- Emotional support to unburden and explore needs
- Nutritional Consultation, personal tuition and healthy food
- Energy therapy
- Meditation tuition
- Transformational counselling
- Exploration of the Celtic surroundings
- Walking, water sports and the opportunity to meet Fungi the dolphin!
Who is the retreat for?
The retreat is aimed primarily at those challenged with chronic or life-threatening illness, or life crisis that are seeking the support of nature and our professional therapeutic team to stop, let go, rest and be nurtured. As this unwinding proceeds, we will gently introduce new skills for healthy cooking and meditation and uplifting soul food while accessing the deep beauty of the Celtic land. As the energy rises we will explore the opportunities in the crisis aiming to send you home refreshed, inspired, motivated and focused on your health, happiness and healing.
The Retreat will focus on one key person with additional support and tuition for the main carer(s). It is vital that carers come along for their own retreat (and not purely for a holiday) so that the needs of the key person for peace, quiet and inner time can be totally honoured.
The Team
The retreat has been designed by Dr Rosy Daniel, Medical Director of Health Creation and Brighid Daly, Psychotherapist and Health Creation Mentor.
Brighid Daly-Connelly
The retreat is led by Brighid Daly who is a biodynamic and integrative psychotherapist and supervisor. She has held the position of psychotherapist in residence in two Galway health centres, and has also taught and provided therapy at the Slanu Cancer Help Centre, (Ireland’s equivalent of the Bristol cancer Help Centre) where she gained extensive experience of working with the emotional and spiritual aspects of the self-healing healing process of those with cancer.
Susie Cox
Nutritional Consultation and personal cookery tuition is provided by Susie Cox . Susie is an holistic nutritional therapist and registered nurse who also runs her own organic farm.
Gerardine Barrett
Gerardine is a very sensitive Integrative energy therapist who works to raise and balance the energies of those who are challenged by serious illness. She uses both ‘hands on’ and ‘hands off’ techniques providing comfort, relief from tension and pain and an energizing uplift.
Eva Bruha
Eva teaches profound and gentle meditation, encouraging the development of deep stillness and inner strength. Her work is based on many years of personal retreat and study of the Eastern esoteric traditions. She now runs a school of meditation in the West of Ireland.
The Programme
Your programme will be individually tailored to meet your specific needs by Brighid prior to your arrival around the following outline plan: Brighid will meet you for a welcoming wholefood dinner at the house on the night of arrival. On the first morning she will give you (and optionally your carer separately) a session to unburden emotionally and explore your needs. You will have two further sessions with Brighid to deepen your exploration of the opportunities for you in the crisis you are facing and also to work out the new values and priorities which emerge from your time of retreat.
The other therapeutic input you will receive will be 2 energy therapy sessions from Gerardine who is wonderfully sensitive.
You will learn meditation, receiving two visits from Eva, a very special teacher. You will also receive a nutritional therapy session and some practical cookery help from local nutritionist and organic farmer, Susie Cox.

Our Ethos
The retreat is based upon the holistic approach to health and healing and is run to the highest professional standards. The essence of the retreat is to help you become still enough to connect with your own wisdom and find the inner strength you need to cope positively and grow through whatever challenge you are facing. You will be encouraged to use this week as inner time for yourself and will be discouraged from using computers, radio, mobile phone and TV. You will also be encouraged to stay close to the house, out of shops and local hostelries until Friday evening, in order to maximize the benefit of the retreat.
Nutrition and meditation sessions will involve all members of your party. Sessions with Brighid and Gerardine will be one to one, and extra sessions for carers can be arranged by Brighid.
Catering and Cleaning
Your dinner on arrival will be prepared for you and the house will be stocked with all the basics for a week of healthy wholefood cooking. Any special dietary needs and preferences will be discussed with Susie who will shop for the week, prior to your arrival. We plan for you to arrive to a stocked house so that you can fully benefit from the retreat without having to take on food shopping trips.
The rest of the week will be self-catering, with any additional supplies brought in by the team as required.
The Cost
The retreat cost is seasonal due to the Dingle Peninsula being a holiday destination. The best value and quietest times will therefore be during the low season. The cost is inclusive of all the support described above and exclusive of extra carer sessions which will be charged at the rate of 65 euros. The dates of Christmas, Easter and summer holidays vary each year and are available on application. Bookings will be confirmed upon receipt of 50% payment which is non-refundable from one month prior to the time of the retreat unless re-booked.
